Okay, bridesmaids dresses are pool color (from Davids Bridal). My dress is white with a pool ribbon aroudn the waste. The groom and groomsmen are wearing white tuxes with silver vests and pool accents. Does anyone have any advice/ideas on what to use for the flowers?
Wedding colors are pool and white with silver/grey accents...any ideas on wedding flowers??
with such a vibrant color like pool doing all white flowers would look very elegant and then you could have your flowers wrapped with pool colored ribbon
Reply:Maybe a light blue....or white with silver and blue ribbons.

In what order does the bridal party march into the church?
Does the maid/matron of honor go first (following mother of the bride, of course) then the bridesmaids and the flower girl just prior to the bride or do the bridesmaids go first, then the maid/matron of honor, flower girl and then bride?
In what order does the bridal party march into the church?
I just looked this up and I think that this is the order at the weddings that I have been to
Groom's family is seated on the Right
Bride's family is seated on the Left
Grandparents of the Groom
Grandparents of the Bride
Mother and Father of the Groom
Mother of the Bride,
Officiant with Groom, Bestman and groomsmen
Bridesmaid (who will be standing furtherest from the bride)
Bridesmaid
Bridesmaid etc.
Maid of Honor
Ring bearer %26amp; Flower girl
Bride on her father's left arm (or person of her choosing)
Reply:Personally I would go bridesmaids, maid/matron and then flower girls with the flowers laid out on the floor and then of course the Bride! That is what I would do. Have been to plenty of weddings and I think that looks the best.
Reply:You can do it any way you wish, but generally the flower girls/ring bearer go right before the bride.
Reply:Flower girl, bridesmaids, maid of honor, bride.
Reply:flower girl, then maids, then maid/matron of honor, then bride.
Best wishes to you!

Bridal Shower Luncheon?
I am the maid of honor in an upcoming wedding. I am planning on putting on a Spring Luncheon/Bridal Shower at my house. I plan on doing and indoor/outdoor party with finger foods and salads, wine, fresh flowers etc. I also plan on renting a tent and tables/chairs incase of bad weather, it will be the first week of May in New England. Hopefully it will be beautiful. Any ideas of things I could be missing?
Bridal Shower Luncheon?
Sounds good. The last 3 years I have hosted 2 bridal showers and I did the finger foods and cake. I also passed out favors to everyone who showed up and I had games and gifts for the games.
Reply:It sounds perfectly elegant to me. I'm sure it will be wonderful!
Reply:Music
Cake
Reply:A "secretary" with a digicam to keep track of who brought which gift, to make little notes about each guest so as to more personalize the thank you notes.
Silly games with silly prizes.
Hot drinks.
Plans for a small "thank you note" party in which friends help the bride get all those notes written and in the mail. "On behalf of" letters of thanks are perfectly correct and should read something like
"Dear Colleen,
Amy wanted you to know how pleased she is with your fancy guest towels and soaps. They will certainly add elegance to her powder room. You were just amazing at the clothes pin game! We all look forward to seeing you at the wedding.
Yours truly, Linda Bowman (Amy's bridesmaid)"
Make sure someone gifts the bride with enough stamps and informals (the cards with a picture on the front and blank inside) to write all these notes. Have fun, lots of fun!
Reply:cake and music, and possibly hire a student from the local high school photography club to take photos for you so you dont miss out on anything, as well. :)
Reply:I just had my bridal shower a week ago and it was fun except for the gifts, I got cleaning aids because my fiancé and me are living together and have all the basics - although there are much needed - but that's what I got. Try some activities, the way we do most of bridal showers in South Africa is that each guest buys something for the home and wrap it in a dish cloth with clothing pins, now the aim of the game is to let the bride guess what the gift is without peeking. If she guesses incorrectly she must do something embarrassing. My maid of honor made up a list of personal questions they asked my fiancé, and when I didn't guess correctly I had to answer a question - you really realize how well you know him after that - and if I answer correct I was safe, if I answer wrong I had to do something like do the moves of the macarena or sing a song or something. It will also be nice if you ask guests to bring a gift to enter the shower apart from all other gifts. For more game, etc. ideas just Google bridal shower ideas, games, themes, etc. It's just a thought, use it, don't use it. Wish you the best of luck!!!
Reply:It sounds lovely.
You may consider what music, if any, you will use. Also, are there any special things you want to do during the shower or do you plan to visit and open gifts? (ideas may include shower games--which I'm personally not a fan of; guest saying nice things about the bride; giving marriage "advice" to her, either in writing or verbally; and so on).
Reply:Dessert. I would either do a cake or miniature cream puffs and miniature eclairs. We had those at one of my showers and they were wonderful. They got them at Sam's Club and just put them on some pretty plates and let them thaw and then put a plate on each tablewhen it was time for dessert. IIt was a lot nicer and classier than a cake imo. I wouldn't serve alcohol at lunch. I would stick with non alcoholic beverages like coffee, tea, water, punch, soda. Not many people drink even wine that early in the day.
You may want to check into renting the tent and chairs because that's going to be pretty expensive. If the weather is too bad to have it outside, I would just set some extra chairs up inside and have it inside. You can always rent or borrow a few card tables and put some beautiful table cloths over them. No one will know the difference nor will they care.

Planning a tapas & sangria bridal shower. Any ideas to help?
The date is set and the cute invitations with Spanish designs are out. Now I need to decorate and put the finishing touches on the party. It's an afternoon event to be held (if the whether is nice) on my large deck. But I want to carry a bit of the decor inside as well (people will have to walk through the house to use the rest room). Any ideas? What colors would be best? What kind of decor? Any favor ideas? What kind of flowers? What kind of cake? Music (I was thinking Spanish guitar if you have any recomendations)? Have you held a Spanish themed party of any kind? What did you do?
Planning a tapas %26amp; sangria bridal shower. Any ideas to help?
so raindove knows, Spain and Mexico are two different countries. as for decor, I'll tell you, I spent a couple weeks in spain 2 years ago. you should take all the dirty napkins in your house, and throw them on the floor, as this seems customary in bars that serve tapas throughout spain. then, at the end of the night, the bartender just sweeps it all out onto the street, and it is cleaned up in the middle of the night, it's pretty ******' crazy. so yeah, just toss garbage on the floors, used up napkins, cups, food, that's if you're going for Authentic, anyways, and invite your guest to do the same with their garbage.
Reply:Sevilla is one of the best known Spanish cities, home of the andalucian (the happiest people on earth), so you may try and inspire yourself with an Andalucian theme.
Red and yellow are Spain's colors. Little "torero" hats and andalucian "bailaora" dresses might be a nice decorating touch. Any bright colored flower will do.
As for music you can go for Gypsy Kings, Paco de Lucia or Oscar Lopez, the best guitarist ever.
The cake has to be a Spanish Almond tart, recipe as follows
Ingredients:
4 large eggs
200g sugar
200g ground almonds
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 lemon, grated
1 Tbsp. of butter
a little flour
50g icing sugar
Directions:
Heat the oven to medium-low (about 325 F). In a bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, lemon zest and cinnamon until thick and creamy. Carefully stir in the ground almonds. Take a smooth, round baking tin or mold and grease well with the butter then dust with flour. Pour in the mixture and bake for about 30 minutes. Leave to cool before removing from the mold and placing on a round serving plate. Dust with the icing sugar. Serves 4.
And please don't forget to make some Crema Catalana (Spanish Custard)
Ingredients:
6 egg yolks
200g sugar
3/4 litre milk
1 cinnamon stick
1 piece of lemon peel
3 tbsp corn flour
Directions:
1. Beat the egg yolks until light then whisk in 150g of the sugar 2. Place the milk in a saucepan together with the cinnamon and lemon peel - bring to the boil and then remove from the heat and strain. 3. Whisk the milk with the egg mixture 4. Dissolve the cornflour with a little milk and whisk into the mixture 5. Place the mixture over a low heat and cook, stirring constantly until it begins to boil 6. Put the custard into a pudding bowl or smaller individual bowls and allow to cool before placing in the fridge 7. Before serving sprinkle a little sugar on top and caramelize it by placing under a hot grill briefly until the sugar melts and turns brown.
Reply:contact a local travel agent and ask them if they have any maps or travel posters from spain - mount them on cardboard (or buy a few poster frames at a mass retailer, like kmart, they are pretty inexpensive) and hang in your living space and around your deck.
check out tourism sites like http://www.spain.info/ to see what the culture is like and get an idea of colors and art that you might see in the cities there. purchase inexpensive fabric yardage and use as table coverings, drape over deck rails, use as "rugs." remember that spain is very different than mexico or south america, even though the language is similar. tapas is served with wines, so check out a local wine store for spanish varietals red, white and rose. they also like a sparkling wine there, but i can't remember what its called.
for favors, go to an import store and look for mantilla combs (like the spanish ladies wear in pictures, with their hair up and covered in lace veils). as for flowers, spain as part of europe has a similar climate, so many flowers you see in bloom here will be the same there - roses would be nice, but any fresh flowers will be lovely. display them in clear, modern glass vases.
since you are serving tapas as your food, try any finger food recipe for dessert. fresh fruit is often served there. also, don't forget, the moors had a heavy influence on the architecture and art in southern spain - check out some morrocan dessert recipes, and even decor ideas.

I think nice earthy colors would be great, cinnamon, chocolate, dark oranges %26amp; reds
Reply:Southwest colors are very in right now and include beautiful teals, purples, yellows, brick orange, and such. You can carry this theme indoors by purchasing fresh flowers in these colors and arranging throughout your house. Additionally, ceramic pitchers, vases, and such also might enhance your arrangements. Candles in paper bags (with sand) are often seen during the Christmas season in New Mexico and Mexico and can be a nice addition if your party goes into the evening. A pinata or two hanging will add a festive touch. In your bathroom, you might want to consider getting some rafia and tying it around guest towels, float some candles in a shallow dish of water, and have fresh flowers. For music, there is a number of beautiful flamenco tunes out there, as well as classics such as The Soul of Spain, which includes such charmers as Maleguena and others. For foods, think tapas! Mini empanadas, tamales, ceviche in spoons, polenta with tomato sauce, mini quesadillas....all are great ideas along with the requisite bowl of salsa and chips. Anyway, have fun!
Reply:OK i have seen many Mexican parties and the general idea is rich bold colors like orange ,red ,green ,blue so buy the so maybe go with very colorful tablecloths plates etc,if you want the delicate form go with ivy and place limes, lemons and oranges nestled down the center of each table like a runner with some bright colored flowers, make a real sangria punch with fruit etc..threw the house you could put the same flower fruits hear and there with the ivy ,if you go with the bright colorful theme then get small pinata type things or shakers from a party store,I'm sure they will have lots of things you could buy,the cake i think should be an orange cake or a lemon ,my husband was Spanish and they are big on citrus flavors, they are into embroidery ,bright colors, and handmade things pottery etc.. that is something you could use is pottery as well Spanish guitar and mariachi music they sell Cd's in a lot of stores, party favors can be something really cute like get a set of small pictures of the couple and put info about them like what they like there dreams what they are going to decorate there home theme in etc or just gen info or some silly saying for them put the person name on it ,and have them laminated and use them for seating ,links are lots of ideas for u and a cake have fun

Can I wear a large floral print dress with solid jacket on 9/10/06 to a bridal shower?
the background is emerald green, medium to large size pink and ivory flowers and a solid short sleeve emerald green jacket with ivory buttons.; fabric is cotton and polyester. 9/10/06 is the weekend after labor day; it is at 1:00 p.m. private room at a restaurant.
Can I wear a large floral print dress with solid jacket on 9/10/06 to a bridal shower?
large and floral says it all...hell no !!
Reply:Pull your hair back in a ponytail, make sure that your makeup is on point, leave the jacket at home, match your heels with your clutch which should be large and if the dress can take it; try a wide belt in the same colour as the shoes and clutch and you will be set. Have a great time.
Reply:yes.
Reply:The dress probably would look better without the jacket.
Reply:Sounds like you don't get out much..................wear only natural fabrics, silk, cotton, wool. Leave the big flower prints and polyester to those who regularly hear "attention K-mart shoppers" But it sounds like you already have made up your mind on what to wear and just want approval.
It really makes no difference what you wear but if you care:
Wear solid colors, beige, cream, black, gray.
Make sure your hair and make-up are perfect. Your make up should be natural looking. Buy a VOGUE or W magazine and take a look.
Wear gold or platinum jewelry. Leather shoes and leather bag.
Reply:i think it is great for the occasion. have fun, give my congrats
Reply:Sounds really cute, just make sure the shoes match.

What type of products would you buy or bought?
If you were to buy products or have bought products online; What were they...Example..Gift Baskets, Clothing, Flowers, Baby Shower or Bridal Gifts..I'm looking into opening a online business and I wanted to know what are the consumers looking for.
What type of products would you buy or bought?
All of the above. How will you differentiate yourself from the other million or so online stores?
Reply:http://andes.topratebiz.com/
Reply:I would buy consumable staple nonperishable products ie. toilet tissue, paper towels, cotton balls, sanitary napkins, disposable razors.
Reply:If my mind were anywhere near accurate enough to remember everything I have bought online there wouldn't be enough characters allowed on this input box to list them all.
Reply:I myself am an Ebayer...buying stuff I can't find in a store. Buying in a store is easier b/c you can see what you are getting AT THAT MOMENT. Doesn't matter what it is.
