Bridal flowers? cost, color?

I am getting married in March 08. We have everything done apart from the flowers. Our whole wedding has stayed within our budget and i don't want to blow it on the flowers. What can i expect to pay low end to high end for a bridal bouquet, Attendants bouquets and groomsmen boutennieres? (spelling? ) Also, my dress is Ivory and my girls are wearing Black with a Champagne sash... so what color flowers other than white do you think will go nicely. Thanks for your help.

Bridal flowers? cost, color?
The prices will vary according to what flowers you choose and what size bouquets you want. For you and for your girls I recommend pink roses. The bouquets should be a little on the small side. The bouquets for the girls should be slightly different from yours. For the men, matching pink rose boutonnieres would work very nicely. To keep the price within your budget go for the simpler options. Sometimes less can look like more.
Reply:Hi and congratulations!

Go to a florist and speak with them. Tell them your budget....how many bouquets you need, etc. and what kinds of flowers you like and get an estimate (quote). That is the only way you will know. They can give you better suggestions of flowers than any of us. That is their business! They are more than willing to help you.

Also try a florist in a grocery store. I know it sounds strange, but they are trained floral designers! Get a quote from a couple of different places.

Everything, of course, depends not only on what flowers you want, but where you live. I live in a rural area so the prices here may not be what they are where you live.

Usually the brides bouquet (in my experience) is about $100 (and up), depending on flowers chosen. Bridesmaid's bouquets can be anywhere from $30-$75?

Boutonnieres usually run about $10-$20.

Again, go to a florist SOON and get a quote.

PS-- I like yellow or pink against a black dress....it looks really nice in the pictures.
Reply:buy fake flowers and watch martha stewart on demand or get a book the are really easy to make yourself try this website

www.marthastewart.com *go to weddings *and then go to Bouquets %26amp; Flowers it's not alot of money done the way you want it easy and fun enjoy and good luck. I am making mine too!
Reply:Im getting married in May and Im making my bridesmaid bouquets. We are buying fake flowers and putting them together ourselves. I talked to a florist and she gave me some pointers on how to arrange them, and they look WONDERFUL! I honestly didnt think it could be so easy and fun. And our groomsmen arent going to be having boutineers (sp?). I think its one of those things that guys dont really care about, so why spend the money? The only real flowers will be my bouquet and the flowers for the parents.

in regards to the colors, its kinda tricky. The colors of your wedding are BEAUTIFUL, but the only way to incorporate any kind of color into the bridal party and yourself is through flowers-bc of the black dresses. I think ivory roses tipped with light pink and a pale pink ribbon would be pretty. It would add some color but not too much that could be distracting. Or small red bouquets would really add dramatic and elegant color to it. Either end of the spectrum would be gorgoeous! Congrats and have fun!!

Reply:I would say a champagne color would be nice, call around for prices and try to bargain letting the other florists know the prices of the other ones if you think they are to high maybe you can get a bargain and still stay with in budget.
Reply:Roses are the most inexpensive flower to use (unless it's Feb, but it's not!). Carnations are cheaper, but I wouldn't use just them- you could mix them in with the big arrangements. Bring colors into florist, you'll be surprised what they suggest to match! Anything would match those colors. I would suggest peach roses mixed with ivory.
Reply:Flowers can be the most flexible item in your wedding...also the most expensive if you are not careful.

Bridal bouquets basic flowers can easily run $300 plus, $75-$100 each bridesmaid, work with your florist he may be willing to include the groomsmen for $5 each from the cuttings of the other flowers. Simple tied fresh spring flowers Iris, Gerber daisies, would be a good start. Lots of colors in this variety of flower. Also check into local discount dept. stores or supermarkets. If they have a floral department, ask to see some samples of their work. I once found a person who worked at the flower dept. willing to free lance and give me a break in the flowers for a wedding I help organize.

Who ever you choose for flowers, be sure to ask them for a box or petals and greenery to add to your decorations. I like to keep bouquets simple and elegant not to overshadow the dresses and over all look. Try to keep the choice of flowers to what is in season. Be careful, some greenery costs as much as some flowers.

Good luck.
Reply:I would do a basic pale pink rose... if the guys arent into pink, maybe a offwhite/ivory color. Honestly, people won't rem the colors of the flowers as much as they will the gorgeous couple! It will be a beautiful day regardless of the minor details- congrats:)
