Can i buy flowers in walmart and then use them as bouquets?

I live in nyc and there's really no walmart around here. but last week i was in pennsylvania and went to a walmart over there. my brother bought his girlfriend a beautiful bouquet of flowers of different color flowers for $10 dollars. It gave me an idea of buying about 3 of those bouquets to make my (bridal) bouquet and then buy 5 for the bridesmaids. Would that work.

I mean these flowers were beautiful I would just have to cut the stem.

Can i buy flowers in walmart and then use them as bouquets?
If they look good and the price is right.....go for it! Look on their website, I'm sure you don't have to drive all the way to Penn. for a Walmart. They are like Starbucks, everywhere.

Just keep in mind that sometimes the selection at Walmart changes so you might not be able to find 8 bouquets that are the same. If you plan on doing it make sure to talk with the manager of the flower department so they can have them on standby.
Reply:Well, heres another idea.. now this might sound kinda cheese ball, but I've known of a lot of people to do this.... Artificial Flowers... seriously!! They wont wilt, they will always look great, you don't have to worry about allergies, or them staining anything (clothing, table cloths, etc.)... and when it comes time for you to throw your bouquet, thats when you could use that $10 flower bunch from walmart....

Good luck!
Reply:Wal-Mart can have beautiful flowers, yes. The key is to SPECIAL ORDER exactly what you want. Believe me, showing up before hand and hoping the flowers you want are there will never work. If they don't offer payment ahead of time, you should order extra flowers so that when you pick them up you can choose the best looking bunch. It saves money, as long as you have the time and patience, why not!? :)

Also, have you ever done this before? I would recommend buying a few bunches before hand(you can even get the ones that are dying and on sale for cheap practice). Will you be wrapping the stems in a ribbon? Sometimes these aren't as easy as they seem...
Reply:Yes -- absolutely. If it looks good, go for it!

But I will say that the smell of fresh flowers is very calming on your wedding day. I took 2 grocery store bouquets (the ones by the cash register) and hand-tied them just like the fancy florists do. Smelled amazing, looked great, cost $20 and lasted for 3 weeks on my kitchen table.
Reply:Yep. Any would really do as long as they are good flowers.
Reply:Do you have a Sam's Club or Costco? They have great flowers, too, and I think they will even do arrangements for you, so you don't have to do it yourself.

If you want to do it, make sure you or someone you know has an idea of how to arrange them or tie them, so they don't fall apart. You can take a class or buy a book at a craft store.
Reply:Hobby Lobby would be better - http://www.craftsetc.com/store/search.as...
Reply:yeah I am buying mine at costco. Just make sure they are refrigerated! and buy them no more than 2 days before the wedding!
Reply:I know a couple of girls got their flowers through Costco or Sam's Club. Here where I live, we have a floral shop that specializes in wholesale orders for DIY brides. They offer classes on making bouquets, bouts, %26amp; corsages.

My sister ordered all of the roses for her wedding online (2GRoses) %26amp; had them delivered the Thursday before her wedding. We just used them for centerpieces, but put them all together on Friday before the rehearsal.

DIY flowers are a great way to save money, especially if you just want roses and you like the hand tied look. There are some great videos out on the internet with good instructions of how to create bouquets and other wedding accessories.
Reply:Hi and congratulations!

Yes, that would work fine! I am always suggesting for bride's to go to Walmart (or Costco). I buy roses from Walmart all the time, and yes, they are only $10 for a dozen.

As a matter of fact, you can put in a special order for a certain color and quantity. It would certainly work for a nice bouquet. Cut off the thorns, cut down the stems, and wrap with a silk ribbon. Beautiful!

If you don't have a Walmart near you, check online. I don't know if you can special order online or not, but possibly.

Good luck and I hope they work out for you.
Reply:Hi,

You definetly could use the flowers from Wal-Mart if you wanted to design your own bouquets. There really isn't any rules against it. There are several different tutorials about how to design your own bouquets just "google" it for directions

Good Luck

Reply:Nothing wrong with that! We are ordering ours from Sams Club...125 roses for $87! At the moment they are higher for Valentine's Day but after Valentine's Day they will go back down.

Congrats!
Reply:I was going to do this when we married in Las Vegas, but I would have had to rent a car and travel to pick up the flowers, and I didn´t want the hassle.

Instead, I brought the dozen fake ivory english roses I had in my home (I bought them at Pottery Barn 6 years ago) to Las Vegas, and the morning of my wedding a friend tied them for me to carry, and each of my bridesmaids carried a single rose. Needless to say, I saved A LOT of money doing this.
Reply:That would so be okay!!! What a great money saver. If you can cut and tie them with a cute ribbon from wal-mart, too, you're set!
Reply:Wal-Mart isn't the only place...there are several grocery stores that have flower departments. They even do arrangements for you! I did mine through a grocery store called Kroger...not sure if they have them in NY...and I paid about $150 for my bouquet, two bridesmaids, and the guys flowers too...much cheaper than a floral shop!!! That was in TN so I'm sure yours will still be more than mine, but I don't see anything wrong with getting flowers from somewhere like that! No one else is going to know...and you can even add your own ribbon!
