Bouquets & boutonierres - help with colors.?

I'm pretty sure I've decided on this dress for me:

Bridesmaids will wear apple gowns, maybe with black sashes (not sure yet, see link for an example)

My wedding colors are black, white %26amp; red (apple red). Wedding is Oct 31, 2009.

What color bouquets %26amp; boutonierres would look good? I'll choose flowers later based upon color.

Would it be weird if I had a red bouquet and the bridesmaids had white bouquets?

If I do that, could I give the groom a white boutonierre and the groomsmen red?

Or should I do red %26amp; white bouquets for all of us?

I've seen too many brides in white dresses with white bouquets and the flowers can barely be seen. If I am shelling out good money, I want to get some nice pics with my flowers.

Bouquets %26amp; boutonierres - help with colors.?
I like your colors, but isn't the groom supposed to match the bride, so he should have the white bout and the groomsmen the red. I think to separate the maid of honor from the bridesmaids you should have a full red bouquet, give her red and white, and the bridesmaids white. I just think that would be pretty but it's up to you I'm just throwing out some ideas. Good luck I'm sure the wedding will be beautiful! (the dresses are perfect)
Reply:Very nice bridesmaid dresses! Don't add the black sash! The bouts. depend also upon the color of the tuxes - I'm guessing they are wearing black, not Gray. I'd go with stephanotis, with maybe a touch of red, maybe in a ribbon.

I think it would be good if the bridesmaids had a white bouquet, but with touches of red.

For you, idk - it's odd to match to your dress unless you just have plain red with white touches.
Reply:Hi and congratulations!

Yes, I LOVE the contrast of the bride with a bold bouquet (red as you suggested) and then the bridesmaids with a white. It looks great in pictures.

I would still do the groom with a white boutonniere and the groomsmen with red boutonnieres. That will look great!
Reply:congrats on your upcoming wedding. your gown is stunning! i love the red on it! their gowns are lovely!

i love your idea of your flowers being red and theirs white - it will make them stand out beautifully! the only minor suggestion i have is to put a little bit of white in your bouquet, whether it be one or two white flowers, or lace around outer edge of your bouquet, or baby's breath mixed in! just something to tie it into the girl's white bouquets. but other than that your ideas are awesome and i wish you the happiest of weddings and a great marriage!
Reply:personally i don't like the red on the dress. i would have it done in silver or gold. but its your choice.

i think the flowers as you suggested it is exactly what i would do.
Reply:Actually my brother %26amp; his now wife did exactly that for their wedding and the pictures turned out GREAT!! The red contrasted really well %26amp; liek u said, they stand out much better. Plus the white bouquets for us bridesmaids really stood out with our royal blue dresses. So I'd definitely go for the stand-alone coloured bouquets - more impact.

All the best!
Reply:that sounds great. that is what I'm doing, my bouquet is going to be mostly in color and the bridesmaids are going to mostly have white flower. same for the guys.
Reply:white
Reply:Why don't you have your bridesmaids carry red bouquets, then you can carry a red and white bouquet. The groom can have a red and white boutionierre and the groomsmen can have red ones...or you could do the reverse.
Reply:Its personal choce really, if you want to have rainbow stripes and dots everywhere I say go ahead, do whatever makes you happy.
Reply:A bouquet with red flowers and a few white ones would be great for you. You could have the bridesmaids carry all white ones. For the groomsmen i would go with white boutonierres and a red one for the groom.
Reply:Great dress! I like the red bouquet for you. Take a snip of your dress to your florist to get the right red for your flowers. There is a deep red rose that is spectacular. Also white roses varigated with red. You could mix or go solid with the red. White for the bridesmaids would also look great. Or you could have your girls carry one long stem white rose, lily, or the like.

Love your choices! Have a beautiful day.
Reply:For boutonierres..I made mine myself by layering a few different sized Ivy leaves, wrapping and curling the ends and spraying them with a shimmer spray. A hat pin and VIOLA! It looked great and they will pretty much go with any color scheme. Bouqet colors..maybe red, bright orange and yellow. Good Luck!
