Church pew decorations?? Please help!?

I need some decorating ideas for the pews at the church. It is a gloriously beautiful Cathedral that needs little decoration but I would like to mark the pews where the bridal party/immediate family sits in and to mark where the other guests sit as it is a huge church and I don't want people sitting at the very back. The church has a 30 minute time limit before the ceremony to decorate and 30 minutes to remove the decorations and there is a scent free policy, therefore flowers are limited. What are some unique ideas to mark the pews? If you have pictures or links to ideas I would greatly appreciate that. Thank you!!

Church pew decorations?? Please help!?
i'm getting married in aug 4th of 2007. my colors are gold and ivory. i'm decorating the pews with cream colored roses and gold tallie like material. i beleive it will look nice. what ever your colors are decorate the end of the pews with the floweres of your choice but of the wedding colors.
Reply:Simple pew bows, available in white and ivory, are an option. If you want unscented flowers attached to the bows, you can use silk flowers.
Reply:well, for my wedding i just put big bows. you can do them in any color you want and you can decorate them any way you want. and do however many bows you will need for the rows you are reserving for your family, etc and do the bows at each end of the pew
Reply:If the church is stunning in it's self don't do a thing ask a friend or relative to be an usher (you might need more than 1). They can sit people %26amp; then get the priest to walk down the aisle before you walk in to get the people in the back to sit closer up the front but with the ushers this might not even happen.

Also it's general knowledge at wedding to keep the first 2 rows for the bridal party %26amp; immediate family so you won't have a problem there.
Reply:I would do my honor pews in large bows and flowers. I would take ribbon to mark the pews in the back to make it look like they are saved for a videographer. That way everyone will sit up closer. To get around the scent thing, use silk flowers for the pews. You do not have to do every pew, I would only do the honor pews since time is so limited.
Reply:On each side of the pew make a big colorful bow and have different color balloons with you and your fiancee name mention on them. Attach each balloon on the end of the pews. Place a rose inside of each program for the attenders. Make a life size poster of you and fiancee and have it shown in front of the alter, and small posters on the pews. While the people are waiting for the wedding to start, have a violist to play for the people. I hope you have a beautiful wedding and congratulation from me.

God Bless
Reply:I would suggest using pew bows to mark the aisle you want used. For the first aisle or family, add an extra detail to the pew bow ( a colored ribbon, etc). Then make sure the ushers know to use those pews.

To help keep people from deciding to seat themselves further back, use a simple ribbon, strung from one pew to the next closing them off so people know not to use them.
Reply:ebay has a great selection on pew bows, for my wedding I am doing to center pieces for the front and a few pew bows. If your concerned about time assign people to do certain things so every thing will look nice and you will not be so stressed...

Good Luck
Reply:You can just put bows at the ends of the pews. You can't really make everyone sit near the front. Some people just like to sit in the back of a church, typically the non-religious types. to try to encourage sitting closer, put one color bow (preferably white) in the pews you want the party/family to sit in and another color (color of the bridesmaids dresses or complementary color) in the other pews and only put them so far back. Plus if/when you get a runner, only have it run so far back thus encouraging people to sit closer.
