Bridal Party?

My little cousin is almost 11 years old. Is that to old to be a flower girl? Also, if I have 5 does there need to be 5 on his side?

Bridal Party?
my flower girl was 7, which some people say is 'too old.' I don't think it matters, so long as the girl is okay with the title. You could also make her a Jr. Bridesmaid if you wanted.

A lot of people try to make the groomsmen and bridesmaids equal for appearance, but you have to choose people you love. Don't add extra people just to fit your quota!

Congratulations!
Reply:I know you'll probably say well, yes I KNOW I don't HAVE to do anything but what's proper/average/accepted/standard, etc. Well, let me say that you REALLY can do whatever. I had an odd number of bridesmaids and less groomsmen so one of the groomsmen walked 2 bridesmaids down the aisle. People thought it was cute. The flower girl was 2 and she didn't throw the petals and people thought that was cute too. If your flower girl is a little on the older side and she is willing to be the flower girl, let her wear a more elegant dress, put a gorgeous flower in her hair and possibly have her drop whole flowers as she walks or something just to make her role a little more mature. Have fun!
Reply:I dont' think it's too young, but you could have her be a junior bridesmaid. My hubby had 5 GM's and I originally had 5 BM's, but 2 dropped out - I didn't replace them and it worked out just fine with the different numbers- we had the MOH and best man walk together then the other girls had 2 boys each to walk with into the reception and down the aisle.
Reply:my niece was that age when she stood up in a wedding..But she was a junior brides maid.

And yes..if there are 5 on one there has to be 5 on the other..that way each has someone to dance with during the first dance part of the reception.
Reply:I had 5 bridesmaids and 3 groomsmen...

Reply:Yes, I think 11 is too old. Flower girls really shouldn't be older than 5 or so. You can call her a Jr. Bridesmaid if you want.

No you can have as many on either side. It really doesn't matter.
Reply:No 11 is not to old, and yes he should have 5 on his side. But it is your day. So what ever you want to do is fine.
Reply:You can make your neice a jr. brides maid instead, and you'll need an equal party on both sides, because they escort each other down the aisle.
Reply:No, don't worry about any of that--it's your day and you should be allowed to have it any way you want.
Reply:Not at all, these days you can make it what you'd like. It's your wedding.
Reply:11 is fine for a flower girl.. I made my side even with his it looks better.. If you have guyfriends or relatives you should ask them to be a groomsmen
Reply:I would think it is fine, but she is a tween...will she? You could make a her a junior bridesmaid...but the numbers should match up on both sides.
Reply:No she is not too old, the decision is always yours. I definitely think he should have 5 on his side
Reply:No, not too old for flower girl at all!

Usually both sides match, but it's doable if they don't.
Reply:no, i think 11 i just fine for a flower girl
Reply:No. 11 is not too old.

And yes, I think he too should have five. :D
Reply:Good age. Yes.
Reply:no and yes
Reply:No it's not too old.
