I am getting married in August 2008. My wedding colors are pink and champagne (gold). I have 3 bridesmaids, 3, junior bridesmaids, and a maid of honor. Everyone has a male partner except the MOH and flower girl who will walk alone. I want to have the bridesmaids wear pink dresses and the junior bridesmaids wear champagne dresses but I am afraid of how the pictures will look with the color mix. I am also unsure of how I should dress the guys to complement this mix. I haven't been able to find any pictures for this sort of thing but I am not totally ready to nix the idea. In addition, my wedding dress is white and I was thinking of a black tux for my groom the other groomsmen. Our flower girl's dress is also white. We are planning a very expensive and formal affair. I don't want to ruin my pictures with a crazy idea but the colors I've chosen truly reflect my personality. Has anyone seen this done before? Post photos if you can?
How can I combine pink and champagne colors for my bridal party attire?
I can picture the bride in white, the bridesmaids in pink with champagne flowers, and the younger girls in champagne with pink flowers. The men in black tuxedos, possibly with a champagne vest, shirt and tie.
One suggestion. Find the champagne in the guys outfits first. Then match that one for the girls. There will be more options for the girls than for the guys. If you find the champagne for the girls first, you may have trouble outfitting the guys without clashing.
Sounds lovely to me, and I think the photos will be stunning.
Reply:i love these colors, i want to see pictures because this is what i am thinking. except i want white tuxes, dunno if itll work. im sure it will be beauutiful, good luck! Report It
Reply:why not have all champange dress with a nice pink sash and flowers in pink etc. and then have pink balloons etc so you have both colours or have the little one in champange and the older ones in pink but have the little ones with a small amount of pink flowers in the hair etc
Reply:I wouldn't put the girls in different color dresses, it always looks mishmashed. I would go with champagne dresses and pink accessories such as sashes or jewelry. Champagne dresses will be a more elegant look than pink dresses. Also, no one wants to pay for and be stuck with a pink dress. If you don't want the standard everyone in the same dress look, you could go with separates and let the girls pick their own tops or you could pick a designer and let the girls pick any dress that comes in your color and fabric. good luck
Reply:Well, it depends on the shade of pink. I suggest using something simple as MSPaint to create color swatches to mix and match- ( you double click a color and it opens the color wheel) or go to your local paint store and get paint chips! This helps you get really nice corresponding shades.
I think instead of having different solid blocks of colors, gently intermingling them will give the whole thing a beautiful, classy fairy-esque look. Champagne can go with anything as it is a lovely soft color. A dusty rose pink, or rich petal pink, or a metallic pink would be beautiful with champagne. Baby pink would be a bit harsh- you need pinks that are muted and have slight depth to them, though you can make it "lighter" by having material, sparkles etc.
Have your bridesmaids wear pink dresses- this will give more contrast to your white dress- and have them have sashes by the waist in champagne. Their shoes can be metallic champagne, as well as jewelery and flowers can be very very pale yellow/pink combinations to match. So they have both colors, but its not huge blocked out colors. Have your MOH have a solid champagne dress in the same cut with a pink sash. So shes "inverted" to them- so you still stand out in the white against the foil.
Are you against the J BMS having the same colors as older? Maybe a different style or length of the dress in the same colors? Or they can have solid pink dresses- since theyre younger it will look more girly, and you have this beautiful image.
For the Flower girl you can get her little pink shoes if her dress is already white, as well as pink petals to throw.
For the men, black is a lovely sharp contrast to champagne gold- please dont make them wear pink besides the flowers! Lightly golden shirts for the inside of the tux will look beautiful, with a darker gold tie-or black, depending if you want a "sharp" look or "soft" look.
I can whip up a quick cartoon sketch just showing triangles and square-shapes in the appropriate colors for you to see how beautifully they would look in a photo if you like- imagine this- You the centerpiece white with hubby in a black tux- then on either side of you the MOH and BM, then the BMS and GMS and then on the outskirts, JBMS and FG-
It would look like:
Solid Pink Solid Pink BlackTux Champ Champ WhiteBlack Champ Champ BlackTux SolidP Solid P
Also, for more integration, maybe a deeper rose pink skirt, with a lighter pink top if they are seperates, or a beautiful organza pink fabric which has beautiful golden lights shot through.
These are classic and beautiful colors and I do hope you pull them off!

dresses with pink boquet
men in champagne vests with pink flower things (i just forgot the name of them)
go for a champagne table cloth with pink flowers to accent for the table arrangement

Choose either the pink or champagne to be the accent color -if you put too much of both colors, it wont look too nice
i think champagne with pink accents will look gorgeous
Reply:personally i love your colour scheme and think it will work beautifully. i would put the junior bridesmaids in a print dress with your colours in it co-ordinating the trim and or sashes on their gowns to the bridesmaids gowns. their gowns could be champagne with a pattern. the pattern could be very subtle or bold whatever you choose, it could be a pattern of small sprigs of pink flowers, or a subtle stripe in the bodice or in the skirt. that would tie your wedding colours all together very nicely. the flower girl's dress in white is a lovely idea.
i think the men being in black is a smart move, i would have their vests in black as well and have their boutonnieres in pink and champagne.
all your bouquets should carry the same colour scheme of pink and champagne - with the majority of your flowers being pink with the majority of your bridal attendant's flowers being cream/champagne colours. your flower girl's flowers should be identical to yours in colour.
your wedding colours are classic and beautiful and i wish you the happiest wedding day!
Reply:I would have the bridesmaids wear champagne and the junior bridesmaids wear pink, as champagne is a more adult color. Maybe have them wear a pink sash and champagne sash for the jr. bridesmaids.

Have the guys wear pink vests and ties, and the groom can wear a white or ivory one.

you can pick the brides mades dresses and junior ones and change between those colors right on the screen it is so awasum you could even get one of his brides dresses with a little splash of color if you want
i ordered # 1516 in the claret red and it looks amazing and no one a my wedding had ever seen a dress like that before
Reply:if you put sashes in the corresponding colors on the dress that will help tie in the look. Also get the tux vests in champagne or gold, and have the groomsmen wear a pink boutonniere.
