I am having a small bridal party, so I am considering only carrying a single flower with filler. Any suggestions on what type of flower? My dress is ivory and hunter green!
What type of flower?
Oh girl, don't get me started on flowers! (I'm a botany student and *adore* plants)
A simple calla lilly would be beautiful:

Good luck :)
Reply:Baby's breat are small and the green stems would match the dress perfectly. They don't smell particularly lovely but they are beautiful to look at.
Reply:A calla lily or gerbera daisy. Or a bird of paradise would be dramatic.
Reply:What about a magnolia
Reply:A white carnation dipped in a hunter green color would be beautiful!
Reply:Something large would be pretty. There are big white lillies that are gorgeous. You could also go with a single white hydrangea. See a picture at -

EDIT - For what it's worth, hydrangeas are inexpensive and their large size make a bouquet look big without spending too much money.
Reply:What ever you decide... you may think of an arm bouquet. I am going to have my bridesmaids hold arm bouquets... I think they are beautiful.
You can easily make them yourself... just add a little greenery with the flower you choose... I think it would look nice.

Reply:A sunflower. That would look gorgeous with a hunter green dress.
Reply:What does having a small bridal party have to do with your flowers??? If anything having a small bridal party should allow you to have more extravagent flowers since you wont have to buy a bouquet for 12 bridesmaids.
Anyway, I've never been a huge fan of the single flower look, primarily because my mother did that... (pink carnation with green ribbon as it was her colors) and she told me looking back it's the one thing she really really regrets.
I have heard though of brides carrying something important to them... a rosary, a bible, an heirloom handkerchief, etc with a small corsage of flowers on the item they carry... Maybe doing something like that would beef up the single flower look. Do you have anything significant like that you could use?
Reply:if you want something that will really pop against both the ivory and the hunter green I would go with A Bird of Paradise. They have a thick stem and just one would be very pretty. but it also depends on what time of year you are getting married. A single large Lilly is always a classic choice too.
Reply:A sunflower. You can carry a large sunflower with some filler and she can carry a smaller sunflower.
You can also consider a pink peony. They smell beautiful and look like a large fluffy rose. They come in different shades - light pink, hot pink and white with hot pink accents. http://www.dutchflowers.com/Merchant/gra...
A large hydrangea would be pretty too. They come in a variety of colors - purple, pink, blue, white, green, etc.

dahlias can also be very pretty and quite large. They also come in many different colors so you could have your pick.

Any flower will be pretty but personally I'd go for a regular bouquet of mixed flowers or roses, even if you are having a small bridal party.
Reply:Babies breath and minature roses, colored to match you gown.
Reply:A gardenia with English ivy. The glossy green leaves will contrast beautifully with the velvety white flower petals.

Or you can use stephanotis sprays - so elegant.
